• The Center for Fawkesian Pursuits

    The Center is an organization dedicated to the celebration and study of the
Gunpowder Plot. We hold a public celebration on the Saturday closest to November 5.
The center maintains a mailing list of those interested. We encourage research into the
famous Gunpowder Plot, Guy Fawkes and the history of its celebration. We are an official
Bonfire Society the only one of its kind in North America. For more information consult

"Linthicum is a very pretty name when you see it written."

Lin, a waterfall or rushing stream — iilynn, a torrent. 

Th. a suffix as seventh or health, or ti (thi) means "the place of." 

Comb, as the last s\llable is spelled in many old records, the crest of 
a wave, or a valley between hills or mountains; as Wales is mountainous, 
the waters of a lin usually run, sometimes rush, down steep declivities, 
hence, 

Linthicum, the place at which the rushing stream or lin throws off a 
spray or comb.

The Performing Arts Association of Linthicum is an outstanding non-profit organization that brings fine, live entertainment to the people of north Anne Arundel County and the surrounding area. North Linthicum has one park- Overlook Park  is located at the end of Governor's
Gate Lane. There is some grassy park like space behind Overlook Elementary School.

North Linthicum is fortunate to be nearby to two fine Maryland State Parks:

Patapsco State Park- Is located just outside the community across Nursery Road to the
                                       North and Across Hammond's Ferry Rd from Snyders.  To learn

Structures:-do you have a favorite building to add? Here is music to go with a grand structure-
I would like to see more monumental architecture in our very practical  "suburbanscape". Perhaps
something real grand- something that would make the cars driving by take notice!  Perhaps all of our local home improvement contractors could chip in a bit of time and their scrap parts and put something truly grand together- if they got together it could be done in a weekend- it would be admired for centuries!
