The  Gunpowder Plot of  1605 was more than just an historical event. It became a cultural production the minute the plotters were captured. This cultural production is revealed to us as it has changed through time. It  has been  captured  by  many images. The study  of these  images reveals much  about the importance of the plot  through time and the social history of those who celebrated it.
