"Somewhere I read of the freedom
of assembly. Somewhere I read of the
freedom of speech.Somewhere I read
of the freedom of the press. Somewhere
I read that the greatness of America is
the right to protest for right. And so just
as I say, we aren't going to let any
injunction turn us around. We are going on."
(Martin Luther King - "I see the Promised Land"
speech in Memphis)

"One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws.
Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. I would
agree with St. Augustine that "an unjust law is no law at all"
(Martin Luther King -  Letter from Birmingham Prison, Alabama)

FROM THE GRAND MARSHAL:
This Parade is a Cultural artwork and should be interpreted as such. It is designed only to describe a traditional Orange parade in the words of Orangemen and Unionists. Despite advances made in the modern media it is still next to impossible to learn via the news media of the true nature of an Orange Lodge Procession. This page hopes to fill that gap with first hand accounts and the presentaiton of a procession as it is observed.
Processions can be experienced on many levels.
Observers should extend their appreciation to those levels.
For example: the parade features the art of the island of Ireland in the form of banners, the music in the form of links to popular ballads, songs and the images of instruments.  It is hoped that the procession will be of universal interest to those interested in the   objective appreciation of cultures of the Island of Ireland without discrimination.
It is most important to realize that Orange processions are important cultural productions for the people that take part in them and who view them , and  that they are non violent and that they are not intended to  threaten  anyone.  It is hoped that as a result of your experience you will come to understand and appreciate the cultural legacies of the procession tradition.
This procession does not have any connection with the Orange Order or any other organization and is a totally independent project.
Thank you for taking part. Please form up quietly and orderly and await the instructions of the Grand Marshal.

Announcer: It is a fine sunny day on the Internet with blue skies dotted with puffs of white cloud. A crowd is gathering with vendors moving up and down handing children balloons and paper Union Jacks. Paper boys are heard hawking their wares-a pie vendor shouts: fresh pies, soda farls. A man with a ice cooler on a bicycle shouts: Get your sodas here-Orange squash, coke-a-cola. Two men one stout with a long gray beard and another thin obviously enjoying the day pull a cart on large wooden wheels filled with beer kegs. Step right up and get a fresh beer or ale, stout, cider we have it all- not banned in cyber space!!!. While most stick to tea and non-alcoholic beverages a few men rush forth to sample the wares and return quickly to their places with beer tankard in one hand and a hot steamy pie in the other. Its a fine warm day folks- watch out for the sun- get plenty of fluids and be sure to apply that sunscreen liberally. Don't worry says one stout fellow beer in hand- the fluids will be found! Yes! it looks like a wonderful day for a procession. Says one lad :"I wonder if King Billy will be here?." Then up speaks his mom- "Yes William he will be! The freedom he brought us is here in cyberspace today" -and then dad replies- "Yes it is son We willl have No Surrender here on the internet!" The crowd hearing this shouts in unison:
NO SURRENDER!What do I hear?... Could it be a band approaching? Yes. ...Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you today the 5th Internet virtual 12th of July Parade!!!!!!

ANNOUNCER: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN OUR THANKS GOES OUT TO THE RUC

WHO are doing their best to serve the people. It is a most difficult job to daily confront the anger and violence of one's own people in the name of law and order. We must all hope that someday soon coherent laws will be established which remove politics and violence from Northern Ireland Judicial Processes. No government can respond only to the threat of violence. Civil Rights can not be negotiated away by a government which listens only to the squeaky wheel. The group which suffers the most is the RUC which is so often needlessly thrust in harms way by politicians wishing to placate intolerant citizens.

Visit the RUC!

The Croud cheers as the Port Perry Lodge Unit comes in to view!
AND BY CHARITY WE ARE BROUGHT HOME TO GOD.

The following is a photograph of the back of Centennial LOL 3272 banner which we carry on
parade. The Front has the infamous portrait of Prince William III on his white horse. The
back is pictured the SWORD AND CHAIN cutting through the chain and ball. Freedom in the
Protestant Faith , living life with the words of God before the open bible. This is symbolic of
the sword God gave us when he gave man the bible. As you can see in the picture, the sword
is cutting through the links of the chain which symbolizes ignorance, superstitions and false
doctrine as dispensed by cults and or the Church of Rome. As it states in the bible know ye the
truth and the truth shall set you free. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that
ye may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to stand.

A GRAND BANNER:

Approaching the War Memorial in the village square of Stewartstown is Moree Temperance LOL 195 led by their Worshipful Master Bro Trevor Boyd and Deputy Master Bro Keith Buchanan. Behind these men the banner shakes gently in the breeze and we can see written in golden letters the name: Moree Temperance LOL 195, Pomeroy District No. 5above the painted picture of King William III leaving Hillsborough Castle. On the reverse of the banner we see The Angel with the Holy Bible again as with other banners showing the importance of the Christian faith to Orangemen and their Protestant heritage. As in other years the banner is carried in style by the twin brothers, Bro. David and Bro Kenneth Buchanan who are also brothers to the Deputy Master Bro Keith Buchanan. As the Worshipful Master comes closer to the War Memorial he removes his bowler hat followed by the other lodge members as a mark of respect to those who gave their lives in two world wars. Passing behind the banner we have two row of brethren walking side by side; In the ranks today we have men from 18 years of age to 75 years of age proud to be walking to celebrate the Battle of the Boyne and to remember the Glorious Revolution of that time which gave the citizens of the United Kingdom freedom of expression and freedom of will as opposed to the tyranny of Rome.We hear the thud of feet of these 16 men on the soft tarmac as they walk in time left, left, left towards the Demonstration Field out the Coagh Road bathed in glorious sunshine.

ANNOUNCER: ITS THE....

CROSS OF ST PATRICK LODGE

WHAT AN OUTSTANDING UNIT WITH THE BANNERS BRIGHT IN THE SUN! THEIR PROCESSION AND BANNER:

The Cross of St Patrick LOL encamped at MoneyreaDeep in the County Down country side brethren begin to arrive at their encampment. It is a warm sunny morning, not a cloud in sight. As is the norm the WM invites the assembled members into the lodge room. The WM occupies the WM Chair and the other officers take up their positions. The meeting is called to order the the WM declares the lodge open according to ritual. A portion of Scripture is read and the minutes of the last regular meeting read and approved by the brethren assembled. The main business of the meeting is to convey and new annual passwork for the ensuing year. This is conveyed to the members in accordance with ancient custom, known only to the brethren. Travel arrangements are explained and with no further business the lodge in closed according to ancient custom and ritual. Members leave the hall for the coach awaiting to take them to the demonstration location, we head off to Newcastle Co Down. As we arrive in Newcastle other lodges from the District are forming .The WM leads his brethren to the appointed place in the procession, according to lodge number. The banner is unfurled, a simple red Cross of St. Patrick on a while background. This symbol has special significance to the Lodge, as its mission is to promote the Gospel as preached by the Patron Saint of Ireland. The Cross of St Patrick is also one of the three crosses in the Union Flag of the UK, along with the Cross of St George and St Andrew. Some onlookers are surprised to see a lodge bearing the name of Patrick, Patrick normally being associated with Irish republicanism. The signal is given and the march is underway, we are off to the field!

ANNOUNCER: NEXT TO PASS BY WILL BE THE...

ULSTER MINI CYBER ORANGE LODGE MOL#1

LODGE SLOGAN: "Spirit of the Keyboard"Ulster Says No! to the Delete Key! WEB PAGE: Visit Them! Residents of Northern Ireland as well as the Republic of Ireland may notice a new Orange parade on their local streets this Summer! It will be the Parade of Loyal Mini Cyber Orange Lodge #1! Standing just under 3 and one quarter inches tall the men of the Lodge will be visiting parade trouble spots throughout the Island of Ireland. As their fascinating web page points out: "You just never know where we might in fact turn up! But what you will know for a fact is that we will not be re-routed or turned back! You may follow the lodge as it travels down all the disputed routes this Summer-and to some very interesting locations indeed. We will be flying them to all corners of the globe- where they will demonstrate that a parade is just a LITTLE thing which couldn't possibly bother anyone really! Watch for them in the parade-they will be the ones with the good posture!" The lodge will demonstrate that a parade is but a symbolic and cultural act which actually threatens no one. It is hoped that by bringing the mini parade to trouble spots residents might be able to put the troublesome parade issue into its proper perspective. It will certainly cause reflection and contemplation! Today's parade features the men in their Sunday best singing a rendition of the Olde song Portadown in front of the reviewing stand.

You are invited to sing a long and play the midi music!
Sing Along!

ANNOUNCER: THANKS LITTLE WEE ORANGEMEN! NOW ITS THE.... LODGE FROM KILLINCHY!

LOL1545 Killinchy

This is a beautiful rural part of ULSTER , and the peaceful stroll along the country roads on a summer evening , to me epitomizes the sprit of Orangeism. We left Killinchy Orange hall brisk in step led by the Killinchy brass bandTHE TUNE DOLLY'S BRAE A FAMOUS ONE AND WORTH SINGING FOR THE SPIRIT:Sing Along Small groups of people gathered at various points along the winding roads , which were hedged by flowering blackberries , hawthorn and shade was given from the early evening sun by the occasional large tree. The service was held in the Presbyterian Church , I was later informed by a older and knowledgeable member of this lodge that it date back to the 1630`s . The sermon was , I thought totally appropriate , from Ezikiel \The Dried Bones\ perhaps Ulster needs the breath of GOD UPON IT? The band then struck up the olde and famous tune: Sing Along! all joined in the famous words. My thanks to the WM , Officers and members of this lodge for giving me the privilege of sharing this fellowship with them. Tom
