Artcars Change Lives! Drive one and make the World a Better Place! Bring on the Smiles and Inspiration!-Worry more about Smileage than Mileage!
One day I realized that the car I was driving had become an artcar. I had been slowly adding bumper stickers for years and nothing happened but one day I got to somewhere around 3/4 of the car covered and WOW!
Everywhere I drove people started focusing upon my car. Few if any exceptions. Very few critics almost all lovers!
There are far too many ordinary plain cars on the roads and I do not think the American public really wants to look at seas of plain colors on the highways. There is a real hunger for individualized expression and artcar drivers are feeding it!
On the road today there is a sense that the uniformity of expression of the 50s and 60s is behind us. The 50s taught us that we could have colors other than black and that we could have chrome and rockets. The 60s brought us shapes other than bathtubs and with the 70's came plastic. In the 80s it was electronics and back to driving bathtubs called vans. In the 90's we have seen some return to older stylistic elements in new cars. However, throughout it all the colors stayed uniform and corporate America continues to create cookie cutter shaped cars and life ways to go with them. Americans however, in clothing and in lifestyles are starting to become more individualistic-we want more choices. We want self expression. We have all simply looked at plain colors and standardized designs for far too long, so long; that now when we see an artcar it causes not just a second look but sheer amazement. Its not a HUH its a WOW!When you drive an artcar you will find that you connect with the people. Honks and waves will follow you everywhere you go. They are not honking at you- they are honking and waving at your car! They generally can't even see you! Miserable families on their way shopping look at your car and cheer up. The sad become happy!
When you get out of your car they talk to you rather than walk on by. It is good to give up being faceless. Parents will bring their kids over to look at the car and in some cases play with it. Cameras come out of nowhere for photos! I waited for people who had to go into a store to buy disposable cameras! My car must be in hundreds of photo albums. Their feeling of joy, excitement and wonder then spreads to me. No matter how bad my day it cheers me up and gives me optimism. The world becomes a friendly place- there is hope! How could anyone not create an artcar? What other kind of art would evoke such unsolicited expression.
Do you want to keep the world the way it is?
Well I for one want change. Try doing something minor- paint on a flower or a design-you can use magnets or washable paint just a little something- you will find change will come even with small initial efforts. If not add a few more designs- when you reach critical mass the light switch will go on and the world will change around you. Give it a try! Do it today - it's easy! Let me know about your car!
I will be looking out for you on the road!!!
