Imagine... traveling in a huge cavernous chrome highlighted cloud of color and you have imagined the experience of riding in Party Car. But not only that! The Party Car has evolved!

We started out with a traditional Jackson Pollack approach. Subdued tones with bits of car parts included glued on under the paint. As time went on and touch ups were required using the paint at hand the car became darker and more red and yellow.

In 2005 it was time for a re-paint and a new vision. Now Party Car is the same party but with a new name: SOMEDAY THE FROGS WILL INHERIT THE EARTH! All will become clear when you visit its blog at: http://partycar.blogspot.com/ just click and travel! Read on!
 

What is it under all the artwork?

Party Car is a 1966 Pontiac Catalina with a functioning 400 engine- A powerful artwork! The car was painted by Conrad, Mary, and Margaret Bladey with the assistance of Richard T. Elsberry on a beautiful summer day in 1996 (Thirty years after the car's birth in the State of Michigan in the company of Pontiac!). The car had been showing its years its skin blotched and flaking with lesions of rust. The surface was carefully cleaned reamed out and "Bondo-ed" and then primed for art. Cans of all available colors of rust o leum were assembled in Margaret's red wagon together with teaspoons, coffee cans and table spoons. Not a human hand nor brush touched the car. Paint placed into teaspoons was sent aloft to settle as it would upon the surface. Around the car paint fell upon the asphalt to create a customized parking place which unified car and earth as one perception one cloud of color.

The Latest Vision: Someday the frogs will Inherit the Earth

FROGS! THE MESSENGERS OF GOD!- Frogs were given special meaning in the Bible. So to start with a few quotations.

Exodus 8:2 - And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs:
 
Exodus 8:3 - And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneading troughs:
 
Exodus 8:4 - And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants.
 
Exodus 8:5 - And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.
 
Exodus 8:6 - And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.
 
Exodus 8:7 - And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt.
 
Exodus 8:8 - Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD.
 
Exodus 8:9 - And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only?
 
Exodus 8:11 - And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy people; they shall remain in the river only.
 
Exodus 8:12 - And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses cried unto the LORD because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.
 
Exodus 8:13 - And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and out of the fields.
 
Psalms 78:45 - He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.
 
Psalms 105:30 - Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.
 
Revelation 16:13 - And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
 
 
 
Years ago I was summoned to the workshop of Bobby Hooe, a master auto mechanic-the best--in Lansdown Maryland. It was a stormy night and in his upper room office I met a preacher recently returned from Russia where he had spread the good news. The preacher was talking of the book of Revelations. I listened with great interest and then reflected upon the following lines from that book and received the vision of the dominion of the frogs which you will read below.
 
Revelation 8:6
And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. 7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. 8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
Revelation 14:18
And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. 19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs
Revelation 16:3
And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea. 4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
And it came to me the realization that when these events came to pass the insects of the world would come to dwell upon the clotted blood of the oceans and of the rivers. Upon it they would lay their eggs in great numbers. The eggs would hatch into a multitude of maggots which would consume the blood. Great clouds of flies would then come to swarm throughout the skies of the earth and darken the light of the sun with their numbers. Sensing the quiet and the darkness the frogs who had gone down under the rivers and oceans for safety would come to the surface of the blood and there find the swarms and multitudes of insects and feed upon them. Not minding the bitterness of wormwood the frogs would multiply as never before and deposit their eggs into the waters. Tadpoles would also feed on the clotted blood and transform into frogs. And it came to pass that frogs in great numbers would come to have dominion over the earth and all that was in it.
 
After hearing the revelation which had come to me the minister and Bobby Hooe were indeed amazed and startled. They asked "Where did you read that good news and the word because we had not seen it in the Bible." I told them that " It was not in the Bible but had come to me as new that evening for the first time". We all agreed that of all of God's creatures the poor frogs were the ones most suited to dominion over the earth.

The Experience-Initial inspiration and vision

The paint..... was allowed to dry and then clear coated. Immediately upon initial completion -before the paint had begun to dry, as is the case with all art cars, it started to change the world. Local residents walking past -people usually speechless and quiet without a word to say started to talk. Cars driving past paused almost, it seems, over ruling their drivers to experience the cloud of color. With appreciation came that other torment of art car owners-disbelief- wonder turned inward -becoming... shock. The neighborhood erupted in a stereo chorus:

Hey!This!is America!And one must be prepared to take certain social risks to be able to reside in Anne Arundel County Maryland!

The new colorful parking space illuminated the drab and confining darkness of suburban streets. Children were moved to add their contributions in chalk. Adults questioned sanity- realizing the space and car as cultural markers establishing the adjacent lot as a separate reality; the car and space noted:

spectacular Apotheosis-from hulk to wonder and from passive functional artifact unnoticed, blending into the canvas of reality to an artifact perceived actively which orchestrates reaction and causes behavior wherever it goes!
