Irish Celtic Culture-Liability or Asset?
Since the first contacts of the Celts with the ancient Greeks they have been described as wild- taking chances-  exhuberant and independent-putting culture above suffering and death..  The Celts  faught battles without armor against the well  equipt armies of Rome and sometimes won. Was the configuration of Celtic Irish Culture a good fit for the demands of the times?  How  did it stand in the way of  cooperation? How  did it  help the survival of  a unique cultural group?- In what ways was  it  an asset?  In which ways in the setting of the 19th century did it cause unnecessary suffering? How did the Celtic-gaelic Peasantry relate to the Irish and Western Middle Classes?  Was Celtic Gaelic Peasant Ireland even free of the dominance of middle class Irish philosophers and politicians?  More will appear here soon! Let us know your suggestions!
