Guy Faux was an only child. Who his father was is not apparent. His mother is a myth. It is most probable that his boots were left orphans.  Young Guy was a bold boy. Guy in the course of time reached Manhood's Estate and became one of the most extensive landed proprietors in the Kingdom.  There was scarcely a parish in which he had not a stake.  He was the British Farmer's Friend and upheld the Corn Duties as long as he had a rag left upon his back.  It is very clear the First Protectionist was a Guy.
