Structure I Parliament/Guy1.
The Parliament as symbol high upon a hill dominating the city. All of the trappings of an important building- butresses, expensive glass windows and ashlar blocks around the openings. Guy is well dressed and shown with his famous lantern. Upon the pikes at the top of his building are the heads of perhaps Guy and another hinting at the eventual justice to follow. Clearly the artist is depicting the threat to and dominance of the Parliament as institution. Rarely do images of the plot show the threat to the king and the members of parliament. The threat is to the institution.
