Portrait of Guy
(as he appeared after he was taken)
" The Criminal made a hearty breakfast of bread and water and was then observed to weep". Upon being questioned he replied "he was pained to think that his career, which promised at one time the highest flights should end in such a regular cell" Read Macaulay through.

Guy being placed on the rack was drawn out to a considerable length and confessed himself to be a miserable Guy.  He is condemned to be made an annual exhibition of and to be burnt in a bonfire by little boys every Fifth of November until further notice. Note: The above is another full-length of poor Guy, drawn from the stretcher on which he was taken to execution.  It will be found at greater length in "Guys Outlines" published in 30 vols.  We are indebted for the loan of the admirable original to Mr. Longman.
