The Central monolith on the top of the roof was
created to house the speakers for the radio and the alto horn. I believe
that cars should have natural horns-they are far more fun to play in
traffic! I also believe that a sound system is very important for the
artcar. I like to listen to music while working on and viewing the car.
Music also can be found that compliments the design. I have recently
located a cd of music written in accordance with Mondrian's own concepts
of music theory as it relates to art. This will help to complete the
picture. The monolith also shows the unstructured cascade of blocks-un
structured and waiting to be tossed out to the viewer by the bowling
girls. Metal sheets are employed to provide a surface for a changing
exhibition of Mondrian works on magnet backing. In this way art that fades
